Batman V Superman Gets Robot Chicken Parody Treatment

http://ift.tt/1TY2HPA
Batman V Superman Robot Chicken parody

Director Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was perhaps the most highly scrutinized blockbuster release of 2016 thus far, as it served to more fully establish the ever expanding DC Extended Universe and set the tone for future DC Films productions yet to come. Nevertheless, Snyder’s big screen take on the Bat of Gotham (Ben Affleck) and the Son of Krypton (Henry Cavill) ultimately became a success at the worldwide box office.

Despite failing to meet its goal of $1 billion in ticket sales, Batman V Superman has subsequently become a hit with the property’s most devoted fan base, and should serve as the basis for many films yet to come from the DCEU. On that note, the movie has proven such an integral facet of the pop-cultural zeitgeist of the moment that it has just been given a full parody treatment by none other than ...

There is perhaps no other video game property that has courted quiet as much wide-spread acclaim and attention in the past ten years than Assassin’s Creed (from developer and publisher Ubisoft) has. With a feature length adaptation of the best-selling series on the way from director Justin Kurzel (Macbeth) and starring Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Apocalypse) and Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard (who costarred in Macbeth with Fassbender), anticipation surrounding the big screen installment in the historical/fantasy adventure property is quite high right now.

Following the release of the film’s first official trailer, all eyes are set towards the theatrical release of Assassin’s Creed later this December. The movie is already promising the inclusion of such ...

Monster Trucks Movie Creature Creatch Monster Trucks Preview: E.T. Meets Fast & Furious

Based on the Monster Trucks title alone, it’s understandable that, at this point, moviegoers might not be entirely sure what to expect from Nickelodeon Movies’ upcoming live-action film: Monster truck rallies? Monsters that look like trucks? The actual premise is more unique than some might, at face value, assume. Monster Trucks is actually the story of a young man and the monster he befriends.

Following in the footsteps of iconic coming-of-age adventure tales, E.T.: The Extraterrestrial for example, Nickelodeon Movies, Paramount Animation, and Disruption Entertainment have teamed-up to deliver a lovable hero team in Monster Trucks – for a new generation of young moviegoers: Tripp (played by Lucas Till) and Creatch (a computer animated creature). Initially developed as a CGI-animation film, the studio chose to pursue a more ambitious ...

Monster Trucks Movie CGI Creature Monster Trucks Special Effects: How CGI Creatures Drive Real Trucks

Initially planned as a CGI-animated film in the vein of Cars or How to Train Your Dragon, Nickelodeon Movies’ Monster Trucks evolved into an ambitious mix of practical car chases and stunts that would later be augmented with CGI creatures in post-production. Given the challenges of injecting believable computer generated monsters inside real cars, it’s easy to understand why the studio was initially pitched the idea as animation. However, with similarly anthropomorphized car characters existing in other properties, the move to live-action could set Monster Trucks apart from the competition – and position the film as a unique blend capable of entertaining children with a fun hero creature as well as adults (who would be ...

Monster Trucks Trailer & First Image: A Monster is in the Truck

http://ift.tt/1Y2IYQz
Monster Trucks Movie Creatch Trailer

After several years in development, Nickelodeon Films and Paramount Animation have finally released the first trailer for their kid-friendly adventure film Monster Trucks. The film started out as a CGI-animated project, featuring a subterranean creature that is accidentally transported above ground – and befriends a lonely small-town boy. While the title is tongue-in-cheek, to the extent that some adult viewers will likely misunderstand (or roll their eyes at) the film, Monster Trucks was developed by established animation director Chris Wedge (known for helming Ice Age, Robots, and Epic) – making his live action debut.

That’s all to say, while the idea sounds goofy, there’s enough potential in that premise (not to mention heart and over-the-top effects) to thrill young moviegoers – assuming the filmmakers can strike a satisfying balance. Even though we still have a long time to go before the film releases, in January of 2017, the first ...

You may have been wondering how there can possibly be a movie about Emojis. They’re just icons on cell phones. They don’t speak, and they don’t have established backstories as characters. Say what you will about that other recent movie about icons of the smartphone screen, the Angry Birds, but at least they could move. And that’s even before the realization that there’s probably going to be a Poop Emoji character.

Even so, The Emoji Movie is a reality. The computer-animated project from Sony Pictures is currently in production, with a release date in the late summer of 2017. Now, however, there’s another potential concern from the project – a legal one.

Suicide Squad - Meet the Squad video

The DC Extended Universe, which currently consists of director Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, is on something of a shaking footing: Snyder’s DC films to date have prompted controversy among moviegoers and, especially in the latter’s case, with movie critics. Warner Bros. has made a number of behind-the-scenes personnel changes since Batman V Superman was released too, including making Ben Affleck an executive producer on Snyder’s Justice League Part One, and recruiting DC Comics Chief Creative Officer/writer Geoff Johns to serve as an executive in charge of the DCEU.

David Ayer’s upcoming DCEU installment Suicide Squad, which has consistently been high on fans’ excitement indexes, has experienced some changes recently too, having now undergone a ...

DC Comics has been reborn. Under the supervision of Geoff Johns, DC’s newest Rebirth relaunch has been (so far) met with great applause. Now all eyes are on Johns and the future of the DCEU. While Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice both have ardent supporters, their reception can’t be categorized as anything but polarizing. Tired of all the fighting, many fans are looking to Johns to “fix” the DCEU.

That task may sound like an impressive burden, but Johns ...

The second half of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3 was centered for the most part on the resurrected Grant Ward, following his dead body becoming host to the Inhuman known as Hive. Given that ABC already had Brett Dalton in place as Ward, it makes sense that the Hive’s true from wasn’t part of the weekly adventures of Agent Coulson and his team. And, from a purely budgetary standpoint, it makes sense to eventually phase out what little makeup was put on Dalton to give him that slightly zombified look and to pull out all the stops with an emaciated chest piece just in case anyone thought he might get better.

Pitch Perfect, released in the fall of 2012, was something of a surprise hit. It applied the usual music-underdog movie formula to collegiate a cappella — a musical form mostly untouched by popular culture up to that point — while also delivering humor, pushing feminist/girl-power themes and making a movie star out of Anna Kendrick. It even delivered a hit single, Cups, from Kendrick, not previously known as a singer.

Pitch Perfect 2, released three years later, made even more money than the original — even earning the title of highest-grossing live-action movie-musical in history — so a third film about the Bellas was inevitable. The film was announced last year, and while it’s now coming together, fans will just have ...

Kara Zor-El and Barry Allen met near the end of Supergirl season 1, in a cross-network crossover episode of Supergirl titled ‘World’s Finest.’ There was plenty of comedy, but the episode felt less like a buddy-cop procedural and more like Kara finding an unexpected peer mentor in Barry, who was happy to find a new ally and friend in Kara. For once, he was the superhuman with more experience at taking down bad guys, thus getting to play the elder statesman role.

‘World’s Finest,’ which saw Barry run fast enough to travel to another Earth in the Multiverse, also provided a 31 percent bump in Supergirl ratings up to 7.2 million viewers. Arguably two of the lighter characters in the DC TV universe, their quirky personalities meshed well together. So much so, in fact, Barry’s presence was enough to make Jimmy Olsen (Kara’s actual crush) jealous.

A lot can be said about Seth Rogen and his long-time collaborator Evan Goldberg. When the two first made it big with their original screenplay, it was with 2007’s teen comedy hit Superbad – a film the duo began writing when they were only 13 years old. Since that time they’ve proven themselves to be capable of turning out memorable comedies.

Most recently, the pair have had their sights set towards television and the somewhat challenging task of adapting Garth Ennis’ Preacher comic book series. As of this writing, it’s still early days for the AMC series but reactions so far have been positive – so much so that both Rogen and Goldberg appear to be looking forward to yet another hefty adaptation challenge.
