He is a character that was created by Henry W. Ralson and John L. Nanovic of Street & Smith Publications, and graced the pages of a pulp magazine during the 1930s and 1940s. Lester Dent was the lead writer during the original 181 issues that were published, while Walter Baumhofer, Paul Orban, Emery Clarke, Modest Stein, and Robert G. Harris were illustrators.
